We know there's a lot to take in, so have a read through our FAQ's and if you still think we've missed something, just get in touch!
There are many differences to working with Toolbox vs. working directly with a tradesperson, the principal one being that we provide a completely managed service and fixed price, ensuring that you get the finish you want while not having to invest all of your time in trying to project manage your bathroom renovation.
While you may be able to find a tradesperson that will quote a cheaper price than Toolbox, working directly with a tradesperson may mean sacrificing on getting the finished product exactly as you want, you may incur additional costs as the work develops and it will be a much higher time burden on you.
You are in full control of what fixtures and fittings you want in your bathroom – it is your room after all! We work with a number of approved suppliers and manage delivery for you in one hassle-free drop by combining deliveries in our warehouse and delivering to you in one go.
If you want to pick fixtures & fittings from your own suppliers, or send us items you would like us to include in your delivery, we are open to that and will do our best to include these in our delivery. You can discuss all this with us at your design consultation, where we can also recommend the popular fixtures and fittings that we have worked with before.
Our stated lead times to get a project is started is 4-6 weeks, although often we are able to turn things around quicker than that. Given our strong links with bathroom fitters, we are able to get preferential availability which helps you to get your project started sooner!
A standard rip-out and refit of a medium-sized bathroom typically takes about two weeks, with large, more complex rooms taking up to four weeks. However, that doesn't mean that your room will be completely out of action for the course of the project. We make sure that the toilet can be replumbed every evening before the tradesperson leaves the site. We can also try to be flexible to if you have any specific requests.
We've built relationships with the best, local bathroom fitters in your area, who we work with closely to deliver your project as a team. You'll be introduced to them before the project and once the project has begun there will constant communication between you, Toolbox and the bathroom fitter.
We conduct detailed onboarding with them verifying their documentation and vet them internally on the quality of their work. We have done the hard work for you in finding these bathroom fitters who you can trust – and we stand-by their quality fully, which is why we guarantee our projects in full.
Following your initial quotation and our design consultation, Toolbox will provide a fixed price final quote which will clearly lay out your scope of works and the assumptions that have been made on this basis. If there are areas that we are concerned about through the briefing process, for example where there may be cost implications once the work starts, we will make this clear to you.
We are flexible and happy to factor in additional work and changing fixtures and fittings where possible, however these will come at an additional charge if they aren't included in the initial brief.
To book in your job we take an initial payment of 50% of the job value. The reason we do this is to enable us to begin ordering all of the components that will make up your new bathroom - the snazzy new suite, the tiles, the flooring and the posh new taps. We ask for the balance payment on the project on the day we start on site. We know that this might be different to how you've worked with other tradespeople but we're not just another building firm.
We take the stresses of project management away from you which includes purchasing and logistics, site visits by our quality checkers, a comprehensive snagging process, milestone payments to tradespeople and a dedicated customer support number for you to use if you have any concerns throughout your project.
